The Supreme Court is destroying America

Archived from June 29, 2007

Everyday I stand helpless while fat old men destroy my great nation.

How blind are these privileged people to think that there is a measure of racial equality in this country which allows for dismantling affirmative action. No child left behind, designed by our most conservative president ever, shows under no uncertain terms that statistically, children of color have been doing less well than children not-of color. Judging from the current administration's priorities it would seem disadvantageous to prove the need for affirmative action, yet it is clearly proven statistically.
How amazing is it that the United States utilized slave labor for hundreds of years, yet affirmative action is around for a couple of decades and then apparently everyone has been appropriately desegregated and everyone has equal opportunity to everything. All while the costs of a college education are rising at such an unreasonable rate that kids can't even get government loans because government education loans don't go high enough to cover current tuition and fees.

Meanwhile, children are losing their right to free speech when a growing number of kids aren't even able to string a sentence together.

Then these illiterate children will be forced to bring babies into the world they don't want. Because apparently women and doctors don't know what's right for them or their families, but the Supreme Court Fat Cats know what's right for everyone.

After the children give birth to children they don't want, they won't be able to afford to buy anything for the unwanted infants because monopoly restrictions are a thing of the past.

And where would these kids get money to buy anything with anyway? With the shameless outsourcing of jobs and the importation of cheaper labor, NO ONE WILL HAVE ANY JOBS.

The other day I filled out my retirement account info, I chose my mutual funds for my 401K, and it occurred to me - what am I doing getting an account like this? I'm investing in the stock market, knowing that it is quite likely we are headed toward a major recession and stock market crash, most likely within my lifetime. The choices being made by the powers that be, people I did not vote for and secretly wish would have strokes (I guess not so secret now) are making major decisions for a host of people who will be negatively impacted by them, as will generations to come. These are not decisions designed to benefit the nation, they are decisions designed to benefit big business and power-hungry evangelical Christians.

Not only do I not have a choice as to who these Supreme Court Fat Cats are, but I also have to pay them out of my paycheck. Those assholes who are killing my job opportunities and the job opportunities of my children take their money from what I earn before I get any part of it.

Man, I am feeling really libertarian right now.
