Every Time I Blog, God Kills a Kitten.

Actually, it takes a few hours for me to write what I consider to be a halfway decent post, so I'd imagine that during that period of time there are at least several dozen kittens that are brought into this world, then tragically shown "the ultimate door." It's not my fault. And it makes me sad.
Living where I live (Syracuse University in Central New York), I'm not really exposed to many kittens. As a 21-year-old student living in a university-owned apartment, I'm not allowed to have a kitten of my own. But I do have a hamster. So, if a cat should mysteriously appear at my doorstep, I'm ready.
Please, cats, don't come to my apartment. Gordon is a special hamster. Such a gentle, loving hamster. Gordon is my friend. My roommate and I would be devastated if anything should happen to her.
When I'm not sitting at home entertaining the hamster, I'm usually somewhere around campus. I might be people-watching on the quad or setting Firefox as the default browser while I update Grimsb.com in one of the many computer labs. I'm in my third year here at SU, and my majors are Television, Radio, and Film and Information Management and Technology. I thus have two primary dimensions of geekiality: film geekiality, and technology geekiality.
I'm also the sort of geek that actually attends 8am classes on Mondays, so I must be getting to bed. I look forward to the first challenge, and to participating in this wonderful competition -- the Olympics of the blogosphere, if you will. Or maybe the American Idol of the blogosphere. That had better ratings.
I apologize to any kittens that may have been harmed due to the creation of this entry. Remember: prevent unwanted kittens. Have your cat spayed or neutered.

As I wait for Movable Type to publish my intro, let me just say hello to all of you. You all seem very nice and I believe that had we met in different circumstances we might have been friends.
Alas, it is dark days indeed that we meet on this field of battle. Let me be the first to say - well done to you all. And may I also say - I dont understand Movable Type. Im so toast.

Bonus points for the Firefox comment. Unfortunately, I am sad to inform you that there has never been a female winner of the Ultimate Blogger in the history of the contest.
EDIT FROM LAUREN: David tried to post a picture, but the img tag doesn't seem to work in comments. Here is a link to the picture: Awwwww.
