CHALLENGE 07: INTENSE INTERVIEW
From March 23, 2006 | Permalink
Just two contestants left.
I remember the first time we saw both of their applications. Tim and Morgan were passed around from person to person and everyone loved the application and videos. Alex was someone we labeled as "creative" and his style was as excellent and his attitude was awesome. They both entertained, informed, made us feel good, and shocked us. It makes us very proud to have Alex and Tim and Morgan as our final two.
The final challenge is called "Intense Interview," and it could make or break this game for our two finalists. We have learned a great deal about our contestants, especially Alex and Tim and Morgan; but they have yet to reveal the deep secrets about the game and their strategy... now we are asking pointed questions and demaninding total honesty. We must know more about The Ultimate Blogger.
What happens next is not entirely in our hands. We're bringing back all of the eliminated bloggers to help us decide which of these finalists is the more ultimate blogger. Who will the glorious former bloggers vote for? Who will Lauren choose? What about Zoe? Or Daniel? We're not just looking at this one challenge, but the entire game they have played. One of these two will win the title and the $1000 prize package.
PS- Propers to E*Rock for making the Super Challenge Brothers faxel animation and Cabel Sasser for the new 8-bit remix and original version of the Challenge Brothers theme song!

Thanks so very much to everyone who supported me!
I do so love entertaining people and making people laugh, and if you've enjoyed my writing, there's more out there for you.
Starting June 6, you can buy my novel, which I worked intensely hard on. It's truly funny and a page-turner.
The book is set in the NY art world, and although there's certainly a love story involved, there's also a great mystery involving the secrets of the main male characters.
I worry that the Amazon description makes this novel sound more frivolous than it is--it's fun and funny, but also packed with great art history and contemporary art details, careful characterization, and a super twist ending.
I love this novel with true passion, and I hope it can make some of you smile.
It's true. Best video yet.
I was so faked out by the beginning. I even hit "VIEW SOURCE" to get the url for the mp4 file! "Did they forget to put the right video in this html file?" NERD CITY!
WHOA. Things get dark when I'm not around.
DUDE.
ZOE, congrats. You really killed it. Thanks so much.
I'm really disappointed that Alex got immunity. It's
not fair that he has access to an automatic 825 strong
email list. But also his favorite answers were boring
and sounded like college students asking questions
that all college students ask themselves. not
original. (but i liked the big person.)
even though i am a straight dude, i am going to buy
zoe's novel. her writing is funny.
How is his email list not fair? Everyone has advantages and disadvantages. Alex has a access to a big email list, but lives in a very small town (compared to say Zoe, who lives in NYC).
Actually, I do consider NYC to have been a huge disadvantage due to the strict anti-flier laws--which are enforced like crazy.
Just to respond to that 1 item.
video = good!
no zoe = sad.
Alex and TimeandMorgan are both cool dudes though. I hope one of them wins.
Trashcan submitted the animal cracker / cookie story. I think he was making fun of Bob, who called Alex's top five posts (including trashcan's post) written by "unoriginal college kids."
Just finally got to watch the video--Jona, look at you with your muscles there! And do they make those pink panties for girls too? I'd rock 'em. I did not know your devotion to pink runs so deep.
Also? I suspect Steve has gotten an attractive beard trim and perhaps even haircut.
You guys groom so good. Makes a Real Girl proud.
zoe--the comments on your book made me want to read it. I plan on ordering a copy. I think it's going to be a big seller, so good luck!!
oh man, that video is insane! i think we need to put jona away for a while. althouggh dudeini can probably escape from straight jackets pretty easy but i mean that's not real its just special effects so whatever.
I just had the most intense Ultimate Blogger dream. There was a weird surprise rule change and Zoe won the contest. Jona made the page this really weird intense bright salmon pink color to mark the contest's end. It was honestly pretty ugly and Jona removed all evidence of his involvement with the entire project because he didn't like the pink color. He even edited himself out of the videos.
Then there was a final video. But instead of the Challenge Bros there was a vignette directed by Miranda July about racial tolerance. Matthew Barney made the costumes, which looked like a combination of traditional catholic vestments, Scottish kilts, and girl scout uniforms.
Sample dialogue:
Uppity black woman: "The water here doesn't taste very good! It drives me crazy"
Large white man: "Well, you've never said anything about it before now!"
