CHALLENGE 02: HOMETOWN HERO

The first challenge tested the salesmanship of the contestants, and Alex and Eric won a valuable first immunity, especially with what seems like a powerful alliance calling the shots. With two contestants now eliminated, only 11 remain to take part in the second challenge, which is due Sunday, March 5th @ 12:00 noon PST.
Not competing will be the two contestants voted off Ultimate Blogger, Tina and Maari. Maari had 6 votes cast against her, and Tina had 5, which is the first glimpse we see of the wheeling and dealing that goes on behind the scenes of the Ultimate Blogger. Who is aligned with who? Which blogger is calling the shots? And most importantly, who will be voted off next?
It's time to get local! In Hometown Hero the contestants must tell us about their lives in the place they call home. This is a chance to take 11 "cyber-vacations" with the remaining contestants as they blog the insider details of where they are from. We're not looking for just a Lonely Planet entry on where the contestants live, we want the best of what their hometown has to offer and to get a true sense of what it's like.
Immunity is up for grabs, and these 11 players are one step closer to the $1000 prize package.

Your beloved hosts believe the voting was political in nature (hence calling it a "dirty" alliance) and not merit based. But such is the way of a reality blogging competition.
We too are sad to see Tina and Maari go, because we spent so much time choosing the finalists, and now we don't get to see them really shine!

Bobby Birdman was the official Slave for this episode. We brought in comedy consultant Stuart Stone to help write some jokes, and he and his housemates let us use The Nicehouse. J.John joined us in the editing suite for some help on editing and voiceover work. Also thanks to Reed College, VooDoo Donuts ("Do Not Enter", GET IT!?!??), and the rad mysterious girl who bought us cookies!
You guys put so much time and creativity into this UB project. Jona, Mike, and Steve should win the damn prize.
Also, WTF, Tina is gone? No more weird videos? Tis a shame indeed.

I still don't understand why 2 people had to go straight off the bat! What's up with doing a double immunity and a double kickoff anyway?
10:04 PM on 03/03/06Is it just me or are these entries really long? Considering that this is the internet and half of us have some form of ADHD, I would appreciate it if you guys kept these entries shorter. I came home after being away all weekend, and I had to page-down 34 times in order to get to the last entry I read.
I have to agree with Mat, I can't see a damn thing. Can I buy you guys a handful of clamp lamps? Seriously? Put something on your amazon wish lists or something.
