sp01-1.jpga brief update before i get started on my challenge entry. the mystery surrounding the poisoned drink case in taiwan has come to an end, when the suspect that was captured yesterday, has confessed to the crimes. pictures of him crying and begging forgiveness to the press are on the front page of every paper, and a full explanation has been given. apparently, after serving a 10 year prison term for robbing a bank at CKS international airport, Mr. Chin-chan Wang (age 40), conspired to poison drinks in an attempt to blackmail the wealthy taiwanese company in order to pay back his depts. unfortunately, him and his coconspirator in china, were unaware of exactly how toxic the poison were, and abandoned the attempts to blackmail after learning that one victim had died. a picture of the composed threat was recovered from the recycling box of the mans computer. after learning of the death, he fled to china, where he attempted to get facial reconstruction or tattoos to hide his identity (though i've yet to find these sources). more information can be found at the taiwan news and china post websites. so... apparently its all a horrible accident, and outside UB, i've yet to hear intelligent discourse concerning the social contexts (though i've heard several absurd exaggerations of the story). cheers.

So the guy wasn't a revolutionary media science specialist in the end. How disappointing!

Just, apparently, an idiot. How disappointing. I still hope they throw the book at him.
