No More Hate-o-rade: Let us Bask in the Gentle Glory of Friendship and Nature by ritchey

Posted on: May 23, 2005 5:58 PM

In light of recent events, I thought I would "break the hate" by showing some pictures of one of the most beautiful experiences I have had in recent memory: camping with my oldest friends in Big Sur. Let us remember how small humanity is, and how beautiful our planet is, and how lucky our lives can be. (NOTE: THIS IS NOT MY GOSSIP ENTRY!!!! DON'T JUDGE ME ON IT!)

Here is where our tent was pitched:

Here is Andrew playing Pink Floyd while Allegra enjoys a spiritual renewal:

Here is Katy waiting for food with the night at her druid back:

Here is Katy at sunset earlier:

Now we see a nice place to have lunch with Dave and Andrew:

We took a hike and this is what it looked like from one part of it when we glanced over our shoulders:

Here is what it looks like when I am standing on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean:

Here is a break in the woods where there were many flies:

this is what Heaven must be like:

This is Jake breaking trail for Allegra, who is illegally picking California poppies:

At night, we sang "the hits of the 90's" and Jake made a legit fire. In the morning, our camping neighbors intimated that they did not appreciate hearing UB40's seminal hit "Red, Red Wine" as sung in a morning meditation spirit by Katy at 11:00 at night:

And here is what we saw when we woke up in the tent the next morning:

Comments:

Thanks, Ritchey.
That was nice.

Also, I would like to direct people's attention to the google ads at the top of the wonderful new "quick links" sidebar on the main Ultimate Blogger page.

Turns out that Urban Honking gets some $ every time you click on those ads. Clicking on them is totally free! It's also relatively painless!

I did a bunch of clicking just now. It felt pretty awesome. I recommend it.

Thanks for sharing those photos! You should upload them to Flickr.

I miss all my former Portland-now-Californian friends.

Wow. That felt good. Every click sent a search of electric pleasure through my synapsis....

yes, it certainly was. What a nice way to wake up in the morning (his email). Oh well. And no--these pictures are not portland, they are california! Big Sur is amazing. All these cliffs with seals and the ocean pounding against them, very tiny little towns selling overpriced gatorade...it's rad. J. John, I read an article about Freddy Adu and thought of you. What do you think of that dude? He's like 10!

Hey Ritch,
Looks like fun! Wish I was there. Wish you were here. Jona was so funny last night, you woulda dug it. I met Willow in person, she's way cool. I didn't get her till I met her. She was fun. Hope the whole move hassle isn't killing your day, if it is, call me up, we'll have a nice chat.

Love You,
Joel
