I don't think going to Europe would probably change many of those people, but I think there are a lot of Americans like myself who have never been but still know there are lots of countries who do things better. Also America is pretty huge and even …
I feel like I should promote my landlords. I mentioned they are through American Property Management, but the properties through APM are largely setup through some sort of franchising like system. There are a ton of bad landlords through them I hear…
Sprawl is the worst. I guess I am just trying to keep some perspective and most major metropolitan areas are more expensive than Portland to live in, and although Portland isn't top tier of major populated cities yet, I don't doubt that it will be i…
I think if you asked a lot of those people they would say they hate sprawl as well. It's like they want Portland to somehow be this perfect insular paradise that also nobody ever moves to so they never have to build new housing. The rent and evictio…
Also, word MJ. I was at a school with tons of employees + it was 100% an academic art crowd. No offense to those of you who are one of those. I generally like academic art people individually a lot, but at least at my former job, crowds of them seem…
I don't know. It sounds like places that have legalized marijuana are generally doing better than expected. I don't know the specifics of our system though.

What about all the weed tax? Where's that going? Could that be used to subsidize lower rents? I feel like those headlines would go over great politically here. "Buy weed and keep your rent low".
Interestingly American Property Management, who is often spoken of as the slum lords of Portland, has not really raised their rents at all. Still many affordable places through them. I've had one for a while and it has actually been pretty good.
There has been a lot of improvement over the last week, but it did start kinda slow. I wept during that Biden interview. Melodica guy is a pretty big doofus, but then again so was Paul Shaffer.
@kmikeym
My theory is that @Thor is having a negative reaction to a perceived value among his peers because it highlights his outsider status.
You are probably right about that to a degree, but I don't know why I would want to highlight it. It de…
I mean, your storm and mountain analogy is also fair. It is just illustrating something completely different. I was speaking in a purely awe inspiring backdrop capacity and how permanence makes people take things for granted which you lend credence …
I've been thinking a lot about how all this convenience all the time is sorta gluttonous. The same way I think I prefer storms to mountains sometimes. It's great that I am surrounded by all this beautiful stuff all the time, but also it's permanence…
Fassbender is the babiest.
I just went to cancel my cable yesterday because it was a pretty much a useless expense for me, but I had to keep bare minimum cable to get the best internet deal and they are just giving HBO away for free now which is i…
I masochistically watched the finale. More abusing little girls. Killed off my favorite character probably. They really just cemented that I made a bad decision watching. On the bright side, Silicon Valley is great! Although, what happened to the co…
Bald guys as unhealthy and evil bumbling idiots/meatheads again...but at least one of them sorta is redeeming sorta. How is Max keeping such a nice haircut?
Just saw it last night. Really love your writing about it YT. Like a lot a lot. My lady friend does too. She read me your blog post while we were falling asleep last night, and we both were all in on your thoughts.
