I think this is a weak call.

Also, how many was it? (I only have 12, and I'm a registered Republican.)
  • I only have 4!
Dad, Uncle, Kooky asperbergy old co-worker, one other dip

    facebook is dumb

    Have some dignity!!!
  • Facebook isn't dumb as long as you have something to sell!

    It was 3 people
1 person I have no idea who he is
1 random girl I went to high school with and have had zero contact with since
1 girl who went to ELEMENTARY SCHOOL with my BROTHER, and I have not seen/spoken to/heard anything about her since I was maybe 15 years old

Why the fuck I gotta stay "facebook friends" with these people?

I guess the bigger question is: what is facebook for, in your life? Probably we will all answer this differently.
  • I had 10! I thought I had 0. Only 5 of them were jokes.
  • I unfriended some guy from High School who "Liked" a really repugnant right-wing post. One time this same guy tried to sell me on some Amway type scam.

    I like this exercise!

I had 6. I think one is 'research'. One is a meticulous indie rock archivist corporate lawyer dude, probably for real. Two are Xian extended family members, a cousin and a cousin's ex. One is a high school-era dude who owns a car dealership in Cottage Grove. And one is a born again dude that dj's at hollow earth.

I'm keeping them because... why not? They aren't bothering me. Car dealer could have anthropological value. He even likes FreedomWORKS! Dick Armey's (good name, btw) hideous Tea Party PAC.

I'm an even bigger commie on Facebook than I am here, so maybe one of them will turn me in to the 'brown shirts' when they have 'brown shirts'. So far though.... Good news! No 'brown shirts'.

I'm curious about people. Facebook is like an antfarm.
  • I went to the Mitt Romney page and couldn't figure out how to see my friends that like it. How do you do it?
  • Maybe you don't have any!

There is a rectangle on the right. Top of the 'highlights.'

You know what? His FB page is totally weird.

"Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. Can't Lose!"

What kind of slogan is that?

Full hearts? What does that have to do with anything?

HOPE worked for me because, seriously, Obama gave me some last time out.

Also, what's with that weird rainy shot of... I guess that is Mitt in the dark with his back to us?

What's that about? Is he coaching the Super Bowl? Shakespeare in the park?

I don't get it at all.
  • It's a direct reference to the tv show Friday Night Lights. The creator is pissed and trying to make him stop using it.
  • Seriously?

I guess I'm one of the 47% that never watched that show or the movie. I heard it was good, just never connected.

I would have suggested PROSPERITY. FREEDOM.

Sunny day. Big toothy grin. Flag.

    Done.

I liked it when you said, "dip". @UBS. ;)

Just read up on this Friday Night Lights thing.

Trivia: Buzz Bissinger, who wrote the book Friday Night Lights, was married to the lady who was running Astoria's community radio station, KMUN, when I moved there.

Weird. He wrote an op-ed endorsing Romney a couple of weeks ago. She was a big liberal. Wonder how that's going....
  • He’s using that?! :(
  • Yeah, he's using Coach Taylor's slogan! About FOOTBALL.
Now our political system has sincerely jumped the shark. TV slogans about football.

CLEAR EYES FULL HEARTS CAN'T LOSE

I'd be so annoyed if i were fictional coach taylor! Although lets face it, the Taylors would totally have been Mitt supporters
  • Maybe not! Tami Taylor is totally progressive. They don’t bullshit.
  • it's true they don't bullshit but they're pretty conservative in that kind of good ol' Texas way
then again they like black people
and Tami helped that stupid girl get an abortion even though she thought it was wrong
    hmmmm
    and they aren't rich

you know who'd vote for Romney for sure though is that asshole Joe McCoy
  • I also love how a major subtheme of that show is Coach Taylor struggling with his feminism

    "I miss the coach's wife"
"you know who I'm excited to meet?"
    "who?"
    "the principal's husband"
