ALFrogtor told me about how you are writing these papers that were blowing these people's heads off because they were like, "Serious music is dead! All that's left is crap on a cracker!" and you were like, "But what about this chamber opera my punk neighbor wrote?" and they were like, "Stop looking at me! My head's blowing off!"
So I was wondering, is there some place where I could read these and see if my head blows off too?
my paper is not that great, I must have been exaggerating to Alan. Although it's true that at a certain level my older/nerdier colleagues legitimately don't know about punk or independent record labels or whatever. It was cool because I was presenting this stuff that established snobs think is really lame, but my colleagues were excited by it, which made me feel good. They found some holes in my arguments, which was cool. But yeah, I guess they were surprised by the stuff I was saying, although that's just one small sampling of colleagues.
I am happy to send my article to anyone who wants, once it is finished, which will be by the end of summer!

I am working on it right now and am kind of disheartened. Some of the prose is so bad, some of the argument links so tentative and clunky.
