I saw Beyond the Thunderdome years ago, and that really didn't motivate me to see the other 2, but then I watched the original recently so yeah...here I am.
Road Warrior is one of those rare cases in which the sequel was better than the original. but RW and MM are both great, and were both fairly low-budget Australian productions. Thunderdome is when Hollywood stepped in, and even though its budget was probably 10 times RW and MM combined it still failed to be as good as either.
RW had a huge affect on my childhood- i spent many many hours considering how i would construct my own road warrioring vehicle. in hindsight, my fully armored monster truck probably would have made it about 40 miles before running out of gas.
When I enrolled in first grade me and my mom registered with the secretary. When she asked What's your name sweetie I shyly whispered to my mom "say 'Tina Turner.'" Not exactly that I thought I would be the real T but I just thought it would be a great identity to start off with.
