August 2006 Archives
Congratulations to J.John for running the most miles as part of the UHAC Running Team for the first month. While this wasn't exactly a competition his dedication and persistence have earned him a virtual golden trophy which he should display proudly.

The UHAC Running Team ran a total of 236.58 miles in 30 days, an average of almost eight miles a day. That's sort of like running from Portland to Grants Pass.
For Month 2, I hope we run all the way into California! If you are running with the Nike+ system, let us know and we'll add you to the team!
The UHAC 1-on-1 Basketball Tournament is over and Josh is the winner. Not only does he take home the $20.00 cash prize, the UHAC BBall Trophy but he also takes the pride of being a winner and besting the tallest, fastest, and toughest that UrbanHonking had to offer. It's not all smooth sailing for the new reigning champ because as the winner he must now face off in a best of three tourney against the greatest living one-on-one basketball player in the United States. (Possibly the World? Yes.)
All the way from the East Coast comes the astounding court skills and dazzling moves of the one they call "Jac". If basketball were science she'd be the four-legged darwin fish eating the Jesus fish... Imagine if the Hindenburg were filled with basketballs instead of helium, she'd be the spark that set it off, reigning basketballs down upon the screaming fans of Michael Jordan. Truly a force to be reckoned with, it's only her equally amazing skills with flour, sugar, and eggs that keep her from fulfilling her destiny as a wrecking ball on the condemned buildings of street ball.
Josh has defeated the towering terror of The McCormick, the graceful pace of Dalas V., and the speed and brutality of Jona "Bones" Bechtolt. Stay tuned for the announcement of the greatest one on one event of 2006.
Jac "The Jesus" Delorey vs. Josh "Swamp Champ" Berezin.
As they say in figure skating, "Things just got interesting."
Which blogger is the best one-on-one basketball player? While Jona "The Finn" Bechtolt claims to be undefeated, Josh "The B is for Basketball" B. plays semi-professional ball every single day. And then there is the 9-foot tall Matt "THE MONSTER" McCormick and the 6'10" AC "Force of Nature" Dickson. Will these giants rule the court, or will we find our own dribbling David?
FIND OUT THIS SUNDAY! SUNDAY, SUNDAY!
