Golf Team Results
Golf is a sport that I have never really played. However, with its origins in Scotland and as the sport of choice for the businessman, I find myself drawn to it. My lack of skill but general interest makes mini-golf a perfect substitute. While some may look at mini-golf as the peak of Mt. Irony climbed by the hipster and his sherpa, the game of miniature golf actually pre-dates the hipster and was formed in 1867 almost exclusively for women. While the sexist history has been overcome, it does present a somewhat unique opportunity for fair play between the sexes.
The UrbanHonking Athletic Club made a recent trek to play 18 holes of mini-golf. Realizing that the novelty stylings of the obstacles tend to allow players to feel like the game is less than serious, each player put $5.00 into a pool. The winner would take home $30.00 and 2nd place $10.00. Additionally, with the eight players split into two teams of four the team captains, Mikey and Steve, placed an additional $15.00 wager on the team result.

A hole-by-hole rundown would prove a tad tedious, so we'll skip right to the results. Par for all 18 holes was 41.
Steve's team scored a total of 229. Steve: 56, Claire: 63, Rebecca: 53, Josh: 54.
Mike's team scored a total of 212. Mike: 45, Nicole: 61, Jona: 55, Cabel: 49.
So Mike won the $15.00 team bet as well as the $30.00 individual bet. Cabel won the $10.00 2nd place bet, and spent it on fireworks.
