Don't let me go alone

By from May 6, 2004

nba.jpgI missed the first round of the playoffs because I was in Europe. Now I'm missing the second round because I don't have cable and no one will go to the sports bars with me! What is the deal here! This is the pinnacle of the season! And the Lakers are down 2-0.

Going to Slabtown alone to catch a game ain't bad, though. Big TVs, and a lot of them. $1 PBR from 4-7. I could do worse.

Watching alone? Isn't that a sign of addiction?

Josh--I will totally watch a game with you if I'm not working. I am already worrying about my T-Wolves...

Posted by J_John @ May 6, 2004 11:55 PM

I'm pretty into alone watching.

I was just teasing about addiction. I think alone watching and 'alone watching in a bar' is a little different. But really, it just shows a commitment I think we can all admire.

I got no problem with Alone Watching. In a Bar is weird.

Last night Azure & I went to Billy Ray's and watched Nets-Pistons upstairs on the big TV, and for most of the game, there was no one up there, so it was just like having my own living room with 22-ounce steins of PBR and a 50-inch teevee.

That could be habit-forming, actually, now that you mention it, Mike.

alone watching at bar?

i don't think i am social enough to do that. alone watching at home is fine. watching at home with friends as an event is best.

we should rotate houses/tvs for the east and west championship games

i will definitely host all pacer games!

Posted by curt @ May 10, 2004 4:40 PM

too bad the pacers won't even make the eastern finals. GO HEAT!!!
i don't really believe that, but I do like the Heat and I think it will go 6 or 7.

yeah admittedly i wrote that when they were up 2-0. man that last game was crazy. dwayne wade and lamar odom. so tough. doing it all with only brian grant in the middle.

tinsley, jones, and miller got to show up.

why isn't miller shooting more?

ack.
