Come dressed as Text!

The Portland Art Center
32 NW 5th, Downtown Portland
8 pm - 12 midnight
The Independent Publishing Resource Center (IPRC) invites creative types to don their best “text apparel” during a special fund-raising ball!
This event is an opportunity for Portland's rich literary arts scene to celebrate itself while supporting one of its most beloved organizations, the Independent Publishing Resource Center. This year's theme is based on the White & Strunk's classic book "The Elements of Style."
A jury of distinguished authors, booksellers, publishers, fashion designers and artists will award prizes for the most grammatically-correct costumes. Plus we’ll pay tribute to authors of the IPRC’s popular “Zine-of-the-Month”.
There will be “text-related” treats to eat and the Portland Art Center will be astir with art & performance including gypsy jazz by the Pete Krebs Trio and an illuminated piece by paper-artist Helen Hiebert.
Tickets are $10 for IPRC members, $15 for non-members. Students are $5. Tickets can be purchased at the IPRC Office, Reading Frenzy or at the door. You can also purchase tickets on-line at Brown Paper Tickets: http://www.brownpapertickets.com, search word: “Text Ball”.
