The best female lacrosse players in the United States will be competing during the second annual US Lacrosse Stars & Stripes Weekend from October 6-7 at the Tualatin Hill’s Park & Recreation Center in Beaverton. The U.S. Elite and Development teams will play exhibition games against collegiate teams from Cal-Berkeley, Oregon and Stanford to highlight the weekend’s activities. The Portland LumberJax will be on hand both days to provide information on the upcoming 2008 season.

Four girls club teams from California, Oregon, and Washington will also be part of the two-day series of games.

The U.S. Elite Team represents the highest level of playing experience for women’s lacrosse players and coaches in the United States, with the exception of a touring team. The U.S. Development Team serves as a means by which the adult lacrosse player can gain greater exposure to international competition and continue to develop her skills with the aim of becoming a member of the Elite or World Cup team.

Tickets are $5 for Saturday, $10 for Sunday, and $12 for a weekend pass. Tickets can be purchased at the event and are available online at www.uslacrosse.org. Children six and under will be admitted free of charge.
