PORTLAND, Ore. — June 15, 2007 — Portland Radio Authority (www.praradio.org) presents a benefit show on June 15 at the Tonic Lounge, located at 3100 NE Sandy Blvd, PDX. BBQ begins at 7 p.m. and music starts at 9:30 p.m. Comedian Kevin-Michael Moore will host the night’s line-up, which includes music from Dark Skies, Pink Snowflakes, Guau Guau and DJs Gram and Automne. Cover is a sliding scale of $6 to $10 and all proceeds go to help keep the Portland Radio Authority up and running.

Psych-blues garage band Dark Skies will headline the festivities with stomping, twisting, throttling heavy soul sounds reminiscent of the Groundhogs and MC5 mixed with Dead Moon and the Wipers. The Pink Snowflakes are described by a random guy at a house party as “kinda like Pink Floyd, Mudhoney, Black Sabbath and acid…man,” known to play shows with gigantic flowers and artsy TVs as a backdrop. Guau Guau lists influences that include “The Shining” and The Kinks (“and just about anybody with the word ‘the’before their name”) and DJs Gram and Automne will spin XXX. Comedian Kevin-Michael Moore, of Third Floor Maximum Capacity Sketch Comedy Troupe, will host between sets.
