Floating World Comics presents a 1st Thursday Art Party with art by Josh
Simmons, Zack Soto, Jennifer Parks, T Edward Bak, Kinoko, and Aidan Koch
with live music by special guests Flaspar! May 3rd from 6-10pm at
Floating World Comics, 20 NW 5th Ave #101.

Zack Soto - creator of SECRET VOICE, published by Adhouse Books. Issue #2
coming soon! Zack has also been published in Kramer's Ergot and won an
Ignatz award for editing the mini-comics anthology STUDYGROUP12.

T Edward Bak - is a fan of Dark Shadows, Misty Comics (UK) and Margot
Kidder. He draws a comic called SERVICE INDUSTRY and will soon be
published in upcoming volumes of MOME and DRAWN & QUARTERLY SHOWCASE.

Josh Simmons - his previous angry youth comic, HAPPY, was published by Top
Shelf. Recently he did an unauthorized BATMAN mini-comic that is very
dark, hilarious and disturbing. All this in preparation for his new
horror graphic novel HOUSE, coming from Fantagraphics in July.

Kinoko - will be visiting from the Fourthcity arts collective in Seattle.
Her visual work has been featured in Anteism, Tablet Magazine, Yeti, and
her own "Zine City Comix". She is also an electronic musician, dj, and
laptop battler.

Aidan Koch - is a local rapper majoring in illustration. She really likes
candy and watching 'Lost'. Her art was featured at the Acorn Gallery and
she will also have art at the Pony Club in May. She does zines like
'CREATION', 'BUGGY IS UGLY' and will be debuting her new comic 'TIERD
BARR' at our show.

Jennifer Parks - is an illustrator from California, now living in
Portland. She's majoring in illustration at PNCA and is finishing up a
couple comics for the May show. Jennifer is also a big fan of candy and
this month she is has a collaborative show up at Discourage Records.

Flaspar - are touring hard, and working hard to bring the bestest
psychedelic tunes to Portland and The World. Their debut 7" 'MUSIC IS OUR
FUTURE' features art by Dearraindrop. Lucky! When they get here I'm just
