Holocene is proud to continue our annual tradition of insanely buckwild New Year's parties with this 100% solid throwdown featuring PDX's premier partyrockers DJ Beyonda and Copy. As anyone who's witnessed Beyonda can attest, this lady's patented blend of current crunk and party rap, early 90s jams, live mashups, and dancepunk is pretty much completely undeniable; if this woman doesn't make you dance till your shirt's soaked, you're most likely not paying attention. She's also one of the only non-band recepients of Willamette Week's coveted "Best New Band 2006" awards, a distinction she shares with her co-star in tonight's festivities, Copy. Comprised of one Marius Libman, a keytar, and a laptop, Copy's signature 8bit dance jams have won him a rabid (no, really) following all over Portland, as evidence by the recurring trend of rabid pogodancing pretty much everywhere the man plays. He's joined tonight by big-beat gogo-live-electro duo Dat'r and the twisted dancepop of Flaspar. Add in one of the most kind and capable venue staffs in the city and the general warm, family vibe of Holocene, and you've got a the perfect recipe for a very special night.
