Long Range: A Benefit for Disjecta and Portland Public Schools

Disjecta presents another signature event at our future home, the Templeton Building, on April 4th, 2006 by hosting the music of Stephen Malkmus, Sexton Blake, the Kingdom and a stint of turntabalism from the troublesome British twosome Queens of Noize.

If that weren't enough, throw in a celebrity three point shooting contest featuring the one and only Darius Miles and newly acquired Voshon Lenard from Portland's only professional basketball team, city commissioner (and long range bomber) Erik Sten, Stephen Malkmus--the basketball player, Nicole Vogel, publisher of Portland Monthly Magazine and surprise guests.

The music event is a benefit for Disjecta. All proceeds from the 3-point contest will go to Portland Public Schools. Celebrate the end of March Madness and mingle with your favorite local celebrities.

Happy hour starts at 6 PM and lasts until 8 PM. The rims will be up and open to the public during these hours and we encourage people to enter the contest and support PPS. The ten best shooters from Happy Hour will face off against our celebrity shooters for the city-wide triple crown at 9:15 PM.

When: Tuesday, April 4th, 2006

What Time: Happy Hour (with public shootout) from 6-8 PM with musical guest Sexton Blake. Then get ready for The Kingdom and Stephen Malkmus, followed by Queens of Noize 'til late night.

Final Shoot-off at 9:15 pm

How Much: $10 / $15 to shoot in the three point contest (or $5 just to shoot without attending the show)

Where: The Templeton Building, 230 E. Burnside (enter on the Burnside Bridge, or enter on SE 3rd just under the bridge)
