9:30pm Float – Nov 1st to 8th

Inspired by the cold ocean, “Float” is a dance concert by TopShakeDance, opening November 1, 2013, at Conduit Dance. Images and experiences of the delicacy of a human alone in the ocean in the black of night, the fear of what may lurk beneath dark water, and the cold hand of hypothermia allowing the mind to forget time are launching points of “Float”. The powerful cast of Michelle Call, Dana Detweiler, Chase Hamilton, Amanda Morse, and Jim McGinn are complemented by the unique musical score of water based sound recordings by the composer Loren Chasse. Costumes are by Heather Treadway, and lighting by Chris Balo.
