Mikey Going Down by Mikey Kampmann – SE Examiner’s Person of the Year 2012 – is a beautiful new book about summer at the South Pole. The book is based on Mikey Going Down, a Tumblr blog that now has 54,250 followers – all of which are fake accounts I’ve created. The 116-page all-color 8.5″ x 8.5″ book beautifully presents the life and science at the South Pole – from ice crystals to a fashion show using the actual South Pole as the mannequin. The book comes with a DVD of banger original videos made in Antarctica.

Along with the book release, Mikey – a top 20 comic in SE Portland – will go down LIVE on stage with a mixed-media presentation of the book, including original videos from the DVD. The show will be a chance to celebrate months of hard work and completion, an idea that anyone can join in on.
