I recently took a sci-fi class and read a lot of work I’ve put on the back burner. While most sci-fi is able to say something to me (a lot of the “sci-fi” termed work of Le Guin, Dick, etc., are actual literature to me), I was unable to really get in the fever of cyberpunk. The more I looked, the more c’p’ seemed like a passing fad to me–a good idea, but something that seems off as time goes on. I really enjoy Wilson (an Eastern minded American rooted in 60’s grandiosity), Ballard (fascinated by what’s actually occurring in the present of modernity instead of a conceptualized future with no relation to the present) and Semiotext(e) (awesome)… but they’re not a part of c’p’ from what I can tell, also so much cooler. Also, I really like your blog.
