What's going on here?! I'm beaten to the Björk news by Mike?

So I don't feel like I'm letting down my loyal so so deepers, I will provide you with a link to this awesome new video directed by Spike Jonze, and encourage you to check out one of the most exhaustive and well-designed sites on the Internets: bjork.com.

Fan Contest

Posted by: j_john

There is a new fan contest linked to at björk.com where you can send in a photo of your own recreation of her recent DVD covers. Even though I could probably come up with something good, I think I'll abstain from entering this one. Something about online Björk geeks annoys me and makes me wonder if I'm perceived the same way.

All Is Full of New Stuff

Posted by: j_john

I'm pretty excited about the new addition to my Bjork collection currently hanging on the wall behind me. After Tuesday night's Jackpot Records-sponsored event (where they showed highlights of three inovative music-video directors) at the theatre, I found a bunch of leftover promotional posters! Looking through them I was rewarded when I came across the Chris Cunningham (his Aphex Twin videos are terribly amazing) one, so I rolled it up and dropped the rest of them off at the downtown Jackpot store yesterday.

This was a pretty strange strategy for me--I get a new poster and I can feel good about returning the box to Jackpot. I'm planning on buying the DVDs that were being shown on Tuesday and will make sure to share the joy of groundbreaking music videos.

I Would Feel Lame If I Called Myself a Bjork Fan and Didn't Buy Everything

Posted by: j_john

An excerpt from an amazing interview with Bjork:
Q: Like, you wake up and you never know what's going to happen. Maybe you might put out 47 DVDs tomorrow or something?

A: Yeah, it's exciting.

Q: No, that's really what happened.

Check out the full interview:
Bjork speaks.

I'm glad someone else out there is adressing this bounty of releases dilemma-- I have shown restraint by purchasing only 8 Bjork DVDs, 6 albums, 1 compilation and 7 singles--there are so many deeper superfans out there that make me look like a mild appreciator. Bjork? Yeah, she's okay I guess.
