Damn, this is a LONG bike ride.

Tuesday was the longest single-day bike ride I'd ever done, at 75+ miles, and then Wednesday promptly displaced it, at 78. "It's all downhill from here!"

You wouldn't believe how much pork I have eaten this week. I can't help it. It just tastes so GOOD. The major food groups seem to be pork, pie, corn, and beer.

Tell me you wouldn't buy a pork chop after hearing Mr Pork Chop.

We're getting some mean tan lines, too. And mixing it up with the locals on the karaoke stage.

Got to run. There is more beer to be drunk.

We are officially in Iowa.

We are in the middle of our second day. Taking advantage of free internet at the Clarinda Public Library. Yesterday was about 57 miles, today is about 62. My bike is not here...it never got off Greyhound. Those guys are the worst. The least professional transportation system I have ever seen. But after borrowing a beater bike to ride on (and it was gonna need some work, too) someone pointed out that these super-high-end bike companies were giving out loaners for "test rides". So I'm riding a $2000 Lemond racing bike. Yeah!

Weather was HOT HOT yesterday and we got caught in the middle of an amazing thunderstorm last night (there was a thunderstorm, sunset and a rainbow in the sky simultaneously -- freaky shit!) but today it is mild and much easier biking. Flatter, today, too. That kind of thing makes a HUGE difference.

Our legs are tired, but we should get back on the road, so I'm going to run now. Or, uh, bike, I mean.

Jew lie forth.
