She couldn't remember the words of the Star-Spangled Banner. Mo figured, "What the hell, I know the words, I'll help her out." He stepped up and did what he could.
Now if he could only do something about this:

On the bright side, we got the free chalupas. Ugh.
I asked him to help me find some information about a man, John Taylor, who was quoted in an article about the video game business. I couldn't find his company, Arcadia Investment Corp, online. I don't even recall why I was so curious about him, other than the fact that he's located in Portland.
The problem with my strategy was that I believed completely in Google's capacity to help me locate almost any information. I am relying on it too heavily. It is a crutch. I am working on it.
Mike emailed a CNN.com reporter who quoted Mr. Taylor. This didn't work AT ALL. The guy clearly didn't respect the request, as he replied with incorrect information! We think he just Googled him and sent Mike the first link, an Arcadia Investment Group located in Los Angeles. Stupid. Boo.
Eventually Mike dug up the phone number of John Taylor's office, and called it up! The receptionist was less than helpful, so Mike just wandered over to the office, since it was about four blocks away. Apparently, they had a great discussion, and Mike is going to be receiving a copy of their big annual report on the gaming industry.
Much praise and admiration to Mike for going all-out.
Well, one less, at least.

PROFESSIONAL SQUIRREL BAIT. What the hell would pro squirrel bait be,
anyway? Fuck that. Caught him. Caught that squirrel. He was cool, he
didn't get all excited. He was chill.
We brought him to a park on the other side of I-5. Those Overlook
neighborhood rich kids can deal with little Casper! Oh, we named him
Casper.
It was a visceral thrill like nothing else. Until you have released a
quivering squirrel from the confines of a wire cage into its natural
habitat, you have not lived.
Next thing you know, a couple of days later, another terrorist comes cruising into the neighborhood and wraps his purple minivan around a tree! He did that because six or eight cop cars were chasing him. He ran, ran out of the minivan, as fast as he could. The police chased him. I was in the park working on my jumper, so I saw it happen. It was pretty cool.
There was just a shooting very close to my house! I'm not sure exactly where. There are several cops crawling around over by Unthank Park, so maybe it was there. I heard it, six or seven shots, but I couldn't tell from inside my house which direction it came from. Hopefully I'll be able to read about it tomorrow in the paper. I need a good source for current crime info. There have been several shootings in this general vicinity since I lived here, and I'd like to map their date and location.
Those durn terrorists!
