Also you are totally correct about the geologic timeframe regarding eastern mountain ranges versus western mountain ranges. The Appalachian range is older than the Hilmalayas, the Andes and even the Alps (the second oldest mountain chain). It was thought that the Appalachian chain is part of russian’s Ural range before plate tectonics and continental drift happened, but it is actually the Atlas mountains in Morocco/Tunisia. However, the Urals are about the same age. Low rolling hills, man.
