But I really really hated Infinite Jest, I cannot even tell you. And I thought House of Leaves was stylistically interesting but totally rubbish on plot and character. So knowing my preferences, for what it’s worth, I think you would like Georges Perec’s “Life: A User’s Manual”. And also Iain Banks’ science fiction books, which are big and dense [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_series]. Have any of the China M suggestions you have found included Iain Banks? And this big book called “Canada” by Richard Ford. It is not about Canada, except maybe it might be symbolically about Canada, or a state of being that is Canada-like.

I think it will be ok though. Columbia makes reasonable raingear, right?

Also I would like to mention that I love fall but literally cannot be in the room while a horror movie is playing.
