It was great. I marched last minute in a couple of parades, but the best was in 1999 when I was 22 and a bunch of my (straight, male, straight-edge) college friends and I just jumped into the parade at the last minute and walked the whole route chanting things like “It’s okay! To be gay! SMAAAAAASH the state!”
