And/or my parents quite understood that a life lived for the fun of it is better than one lived chasing money. Instead we urban working people have to drive up to snobby-ass places like Blue Mountain and get sniggered by rich people and their awful children for daring to wear a normal winter jacket skiing. Fuck rich people.

If only you could figure out how to include a diatribe against Gene Weingarten, and a dig against Sufjan Stevens, it would be complete.

How do these people live with themselves? I refuse to believe they don’t know how completely evil their lifestyles and attitudes are unless maybe they are blind and deaf or they never turn on their computer or television. I think they just DON’T CARE. They give no fuck. They’re trying to get rid of their money, spending to make themselves feel something, and they forget what they even bought like crazy hoarders who own fifty crockpots, because they HAVE TO SPEND THAT MONEY. They don’t want their exes to get it, they don’t want their shithead kids to have it, and god forbid their hard-earned dollars get wasted by some shill charity on something as banal as a vaccine or hospital. I think that’s why they do it.

Fuck these people in its ass forever and ever, amen.

Clearly the rich can’t just light all their money on fire or they won’t be rich anymore. I would guess that in some way the sale of this place increased his pile of money (even if it was just no longer paying to keep the place stocked of elk jerky and champagne). If that’s true then it seems to add another element of awful that the destruction of so much value would in fact create value for someone.

good point.

The scavengers seem like the righteous ones (and pretty much are, and it’s triumphant to think about them driving away with at least a partial salvage) but it’s true that it’s important to remember that shit is FUCKED and it’s complicated and nobody’s perfect.

You are good at stories.
