L@@K! Magic Beans
by acdickson

A week ago I told you all about the Magic Beans my protege Nate Preston listed on eBay and encouraged you all to spread the word to create an international web phenomenon.

Here's where we stand. Over 700 hits, almost 50 watchers. I was even contacted by a genteleman touched by greatness –– Jeremy the Pink Punny. Jeremy has lived what Nate and I only dream of, having had the Golden Palace Casino bid on his auction. Jeremy, a poker player with an invitation to the world series of poker in hand, proposed wearing a pink bunny suit to said event with any company's logo on the front. An easy $15,000. While the 'your logo on my body' auction is by now months old, Jeremy was able to stand out from the countless body billboard auctions by bringing in another hot aspect of culture, texas hold 'em poker. It looks like Jeremy has created a nice life for himself centered around wearing his punny suit. Nice work, Jer.

But back to the matter at hand. 50 watchers and 700 hits just isn't going to do it, folks. Jeremy got 18,000 hits, which is probably on the low side of what you need to attract the attention of GPC. Can we muster that kind of traffic in the next 36 hours? I don't know. That's up to us. Spread the word folks.

If this auction doesn't catch on... I'm sure Nate will come back with a more interesting, stronger auction. We're working on some ideas as we speak. Any ideas from you all are of course welcome. Or better yet, post them yourself and I'll promote them here.

Meanwhile, how is Nate? Well, I'm proud to report he recently won a cookie in the shape of ET. For a mere $1.25 no less. Anyone who can't find something they need on eBay just isn't looking hard enough.

Andrew:

Thank you for continuing to leading the charge in this important crusade. I considered offering to let someone paint my house in any way they wanted for a month (certain restrictions apply), but was concerned I wouldn't make enough to repaint the place after the month was over! Also, I don't think we get enough traffic past our house to warrent attention from the big guys. But I am continuing to mull this around and will let you know if I come up with something!
