The DeSoto Project

Developer Jim Winkler is calling the renovation of the former Daisy Kingdom building 'the DeSoto project'. The Oregonian says it is "named after the car brand on the ghost sign on the building's south wall."
Will it be known as the DeSoto building when it's finished? I'd love to see that mural/sign restored.
The Oregonian article also says that Contemporary Crafts Museum & Gallery is planning on opening in the former Daisy Kingdom building in July 2007.

hmm, which is cooler: "The Desoto Project", or "Daisy Kingdom" - they are both such good names. Desoto Project sounds like a 1970s Hollywood space thriller that may have starred OJ Simpson. The Daisy Kingdom sounds like a gay knights in shining armor epic. aren't there really two building there on that block, can't one be the desoto and the other be the daisy?
