World's Longest Hot Dog

I've always liked the Franz Bakery, with it's spinning loaf sign and windows displaying the conveyer belts of roving bread. Today Franz Bakery solidified their place in Portland history by displaying a world record 100 foot long hot dog and bun in Pioneer Square.
Just to give some perspective here, the previous records I found while searching online consisted of a measly sixteen footer in Chicago in 2003, which beat the previous Pennsylvania record of fifteen feet three inces. The Guiness Book of World Records says the longest hot dog measured 17.5 m (57.5 ft) and was made at Bally (USA) on August 14, 2005. There is also mention in Wikipedia of an Austrialian hot dog that was 65.6 feet long.
Meanwhile, back in Awesome-Town Portland we are now home to a 100 foot long hot dog. We are the champs. The All Stars. Wear it with pride Portland, and thank you Franz Bakery.
Dude. BBQs, Nathan's, 100-footers (actually, it was 104)... I move to elect the hot dog as this summer's official mascot.
PS there is a hot dog eating contest at Zach's shack next weekend. For those who won't be making it to the IFOCE event.

OH, GOD! It's THIN! There's something about that that makes it sooo creepy...
I mean, all in the name of progress, I'm sure; but, Lord a'mighty!
Gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I really enjoyed seeing this thing. I guess they had to knock out a window at Franz to get that giant bun made.
