I drew this on a napkin quite accidentally a few years ago and have been thinking about it for some time. My grandparents survived the Holocaust in Europe, raised Jewish, I have an understanding of persecution.

It seemed like the Gay Cross had the potential to be a design for good, but since I am neither gay nor Christian I wanted to move slowly with it. I spent some time asking friends who were either one or the other or both, and only received positive feedback. So I decided to put up a simple site.

Given the current political climate of discrimination and hateful rhetoric coming from the White House and other extremists on the right, I thought this was a good time for the symbol to exist in the world. Happy pride month.

I hope that this small gesture can help all Christians embrace one another, no matter who they love. The Gay Cross is available freely for any non-commercial reproduction here: www.gaycross.com

Joshua Berger, art director of Plazm magazine, was in a bike accident in Portland eleven days ago. He has been in trauma wards at hospital ever since, and is making steady improvements. However, he has sustained considerable Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) that will likely take months of recovery. Perhaps years.

Please keep Josh and our family in your thoughts, wishes, prayers, meditations, whatever it is you’re into. We’ll update this site with more info and ways to get involved, and send things out on the Plazm newsletter (sign up at plazm.com top of page) & facebook page.

Visiting is still very limited. We’ll let you know as things kind of open up for more visitors.

With love to all the amazing friends & collaborators Josh has out there,

Tiffany
(josh’s wife / plazm co editor / etc.)

All yours for a mere $105 donation to our Kickstarter fundraising campaign. Tell yr friends and “friends” alike about our effort to get the next issue printed: http://kck.st/iNrLDS is the URL. Above: NK Guy photo of the actual Raygun Gothic Rocket installed in the desert; it is now a large-scale sculptural installation on San Francisco’s Embarcadero waterfront.
