It seems worth noting that this is the second Open Engagement, and that it was actually founded by Jen Delos Reyes, the other half of the Social Practice faculty at Portland State University. The first Open Engagement was in Regina, Canada in the Fall of 2007 with Jen Delos Reyes at the helm, and Harrell Fletcher acting as key note speaker. Harrell deserves credit here as well, but props to Jen for bringing the conference to Portland!
