Dear Patrick,
As a professor of Anna Gray and Ryan Wilson Paulsen, I feel obliged to point out to you and your readers that their collaborative show at PNCA is precisely that–a collaboration. Those familiar with their individual work will recognize immediately what each has contributed to the project, but what they will notice also is how that work has been enlarged, enriched, and transformed through collaboration. Your almost exclusive focus on but one of these remarkable young artists was, no doubt, largely inadvertent, yet all those who know Gray’s elegant, intelligent work must surely feel that it has been sacrificed for the sake of a unifying theme in an otherwise compelling review.
