Bruce died.
by Willow

This morning I went down to the animal hospital to visit Bruce. While I was there the test results came back for the fatal kitty disease, FIP. The results were positive. I spend a few hours hanging out with Bruce- petting him and holding him in my lap. Then Mike came and we went into a little room and they gave him an sedative injection that literally put him to sleep. He died in my hands, with Mike petting him. Bruce was a good cat. He was very loving and sweet. He loved to be held and carried around, and he snuggled like no other kitty I've known. I loved him and I'm so sad he died.

I am so sad. He found the ultimate life companion with you, and there was so much love and sweetness to be cut so short. May you go on and on, good Bruce.

You and Bruce were on my mind all day long and I am so sad for you, Willow. Animal love is strong, as is Animal grief. I'd take Matt up on his offer and get some qt with a dog or cat--and have a good old cry.

Willow, I am very sorry that your special cat Bruce had to leave your loving family. I know how much you loved him. Coincidentally, I am your neighbor, and I had the opportunity to watch Bruce recently from my window and I would like to tell you about it. It was blustery Portland day and suddenly it started to snow giant beautiful snowflakes thick like lace. Bruce was in your window and he was SO EXCITED. He did not know where to look. His little head was bopping up and down trying to take in every single snowflake. He was a happy and content cat and he was lucky to have an appreciative owner like you to live out his kitty life. Here's to Bruce, you will be missed when I look out the window. ~ love jenn

I have recently lost my cat friend as well, although to unknown circumstances, and I deeply feel your pain. It is a sad hole in your life. All you can do is tell yourself that you gave him a good home while he was here, and that he was happy and wanted for nothing. And that is a very special thing for anybody.

Oh, poor Willow... He was a very special little guy and I know you gave him a very happy short life. I'm so sorry.

I'm glad he got to spend his short life with you. I'm sure you made him very happy and I know he made you happy. Much love to you.

Oh, Willow. How sad. I'm so very sorry.

Losing a pet is so sad. They become such good friends to you, and then they have to go, and it's like a little hole in your heart.

I never met Bruce...but I've seen pictures...and he was clearly someone worth petting. I'm sorry to hear about this Willow.

I am so sorry about Bruce. He sounds like a sweet boy and a great cat. The story about him watching the snow made me cry at work and now again at home.

Thank you all for your nice words. It means a lot. I miss my little friend, but I'm just so glad he's not in pain anymore. Anyway, thank you so much for being so nice.
