As a long-time and unapologetic lover of Lloyd Dobbler in “Say Anything,” I am vexed that Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” would be confused with anything Clapton has ever stamped (except for “Layla,” but we all have Duane Allman to thank for that head-spinning guitar riff that changed the face of shitty English rock.
