I feel you, Sonny. The good thing about my commute is that I move in the opposite direction of the traffic both ways. The oncoming lanes may be moving at 10mph, but I cruise by at 60. Ocassionally I’ll time it wrong and be stuck on a freeway bridge in 85 degree heat and just hate my life. But usually it’s pretty pleasant.
I carpool sometimes, and the shit-talk time is awesome. Shit talking other drivers, people on campus, politicians, whatever. Carpool time is gossip time.

I consider myself an optimist myself, but no one really likes traffic. Yes, it gives you time to think and yes you can listen to NPR and audio tapes and all that stuff; but eventually, it just gets tiring. I hate to be negative here, but that’s the one thing that I really dread about work…the commute. If you can find someone to carpool with, though…I guess I can see how that can be fun.
