I'd like to know how closely the conditions presented in the game resemble real-world conditions. We got a little bit when Fiona mentioned that there's no such thing as a pancreatic membrane, but I'd like to hear more. Also, how closely do the procedures resmeble actual procedures. Is the order of operations, like the stitching people up afterwards, correct? Obviously the game has a lot of generalized actions and I'm sure over-simplifies the procedures, but I'm curious how much of the game is based on actual medical procedures/conditions.

If this is anything like the DS version (which I'm pretty sure it is--I think it's something like a remake?) they don't resemble actual procedures at all. Again, I haven't played the wii version but the game actually gets a lot more fun once you stop trying to do things the way an actual surgeon might. You need to be really fast at the expense of precision to actually get the top 'grade' on a surgery. Also the plot of the game takes you into some pretty weird territory pretty quickly, most of which has absolutely nothing to do with real medicine or biology or actually science of any kind (other than science-fiction). It's still a really cool and fun game though.
