Investigating the effects of automobile traffic on common comestibles

Under cover of darkness, we placed various food objects in the path of vehicles on SW Columbia Avenue, Portland, Oregon, and observed the effects. Typical estimated vehicle speed was approximately 45 mph, in violation of the posted 30-mph speed limit.
