And then I said...!
I had the following amazing interaction this afternoon with the former department chair, a noted renal pathologist:
As I was heading out the door of the lab, Dr. H spotted my helmet and said, "are you a motorcyclist?"
- Me: No, I'm a scooterist.
- Noted Pathologist: Oh! Be careful out there.
- Me: Yeah, it can get pretty slick...
- Noted Pathologist: I use to ride a motorcyle. That's a pretty good way to lose some epidermis!
- Me: That's why I got this thing (pointing to leather jacket). Someboyd else's epidermis!
Noted Pathologist: Ha! Epidermis... not to mention sub-q (refering to subcutaneous tissue)!
Ahhh, pathology jokes.
dear fiona,
i have been surfing the web like a mad man learning about motor scooters, so far i have been eyein the people 150 and the italjet torpedo for the most part. today, in my weekly bike ride through SE portland i photographed 3 different scooters that i liked. i am totally gonna try to get one of them shits. thanks for that ride. it changed my life forever.
Awesome. I'm so glad you had an inspirational ride home, that fateful fateful night. I'm so used to riding my scoot that it unfortunately becomes a bit ordinary, and I notice more the negative aspects, like riding in the rain. Its so nice to get the fresh perspective of someone who is new to the the wonders of scooting, to remind me how awesome a form of transportation i really have. I hope you get one! We can form a scooter gang.
