Out of Time

I'm thinking there should be moments when you're allowed to mess with the time space continuum and get an extra day between Sunday and Monday. Blunday or something. You could use it if you've been at a crab cake competition all weekend and still have to write a whole thing about it but are slammed at work and are maybe asked to also be on television. Would YOU like to be on television? Do you live near New York? Are you sick of hearing me talk about competitive eating because you, too, want to experience the thrill firsthand? Well now's your chance. Kate, the wonderful woman who holds the IFOCE together sent me this press release this morning and I'm obligated now to pass this treat along to you:

Watch Filming of Eats of Strength Live

The IFOCE will film a new series of eating shows for InHD beginning this Saturday, and we hope you can join us in the audience.

Eats of Strength, which will air on the high-definition network, InHD, will test the skills of top eaters as they try to break historic records. You can be there as the camera sweeps over the audience to see if these eaters triumph or fail. Online ticket reservations – available via IFOCE.com – are required. There is no charge for admission.

And if bologna isn't your thing, there are other foods that will be challenged in the coming weeks.

Also, there was no college party afterall, but there were water taxis, a Mayor's Ball, and a giant urinal. And if that's not enough to make your weekend, then we probably wouldn't be friends.

I confess to being dearly afraid of watching competitive eating. I fear that waves of imagined "what would that feel like?" vibes would send my own stomach to flip-flopping.

Something else I never wanted to see, but was forced to because of my somewhat compulsive ANTM addiction? Yeah. The big bugs on chains. Crawling on fashion. Still getting over it...

But this sounds so fun for you, so Yay TV Liz! Screenshots of you to come, perhaps?

I was going to ask about the Mayor's Ball, and then I realized I was way more interested in the giant urinal. Please explain.
