RFC: Awesome Things In 2008

I'm working on a post for Portland's Future Awesome about all the great things that will/might happen in 2008, and I've been emailing a few people for what they think. Since most people have been giving me much better ideas than I came up with on my own, I just wanted to ask the question here:
