Moving past being a huge goofball, there are some interesting UI issues to consider here.
1. It's obviously a "psychological alarm", but the alarm is so quiet and unassuming — can it possibly deter a real thief?
2. Why add the initial "doorbell" sound at all? Why not just have it enter "buzzer mode" after 10 seconds of laxative-stealing criminal activity? Why tip-off the poop-troubled would-be robber that there's a sound sensor at all?
3. How did they determine the average length of "item-grabbing" time? Is there any concern that an indecisive elderly person might suffer a low-grade heart attack due to alarm mode kicking in?
I was actually going to blog post this thing about forty years ago but this was far quicker and I didn't have to do any work. THANKS MIKE!
