Spotting A Longstreth
Wow! Saw this today while visiting Shayla. Pretty amazing.
This is a painting from the "Trucks Series" which were originally displayed at La Cruda. The owner liked them so much he bought all of them and no longer showed art! When La Cruda was sold the paintings went with the sale. When the business was sold again, the paintings had already been removed and now lived with the family members of the people who bought the place. So presumably they are spread about Portland, with this one living in the Wieden + Kennedy building!
This series was painted in the basement studio of "Rip City", the house where we lived on Clinton Street. For more information about Jake check out JakeLongstreth.com.

I believe that this one of the paintings that was at the old La Cruda. It was a pretty bad mexican restaurant that occupied the building where Savoy is now. These paintings always reminded me of long drives through SE Washington just north of the Umatilla weapons depot. Oh weapons depots.
Yeah! I just added some more explanation!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ask jake about "dump rush"
wow, that one looks great
That one, amazingly, also happens to be the cover of Dear Nora's first album, "We'll Have A Time."
I love those paintings. For years, any time we went to La Cruda, I'd always comment about them. It got to be a joke amongst my friends: "the mexican restaurant with the good...paintings."
