Facebook Advertising

A while ago, when no one was looking, I spent $50.00 to put some ads up on Facebook. I was curious what the effect would be. I didn't really think through it too much, and I had the ad run on a Wednesday.

Wednesday's are traditionally a big day on UrbanHonking. Monday tends to be low, then Tuesday and Wednesday are the busy days, things slow for a bit on Thursday and Friday, then rise up on the weekend, and then the Monday lull again. That's the typical traffic cycle for UrHo. (according to Mint's tracking of "Unique Visitor"s per day.)

I tried to boost Wednesday by spending $50.00 on Facebook Flyers, but looking at the numbers it doesn't seem to have had much of an effect. I saw a lot of referrers coming in, but it didn't seem to boost the stats in the way I expected...

Maybe I should try again on a slow day and see if that makes an impact? I might try it again in the future if we are planning a specific event or something. I don't think general ads for the whole of UrbanHonking make sense, even if they are a lot of fun.
