First!
Was I the only one, as a child, who wished to be a nun based on the good nuns in nun movies? Like, post-Sound of Music (mostly just for those curtain clothes), but pre-Sister Act. In old movies–Black Narcissus (all those blowing curtains, all that passion for god and sisterhood), or even this not very good Jane Fonda/Meg Tilly vehicle from the eighties that I tried to rewatch in the throes of tri-annual my re-obsession with JF, nuns are vigilant, pure and powerful:

JF smokes so much, it’ll make your stomach turn. in the eighties thats how they showed a single woman was a tough as a man. Heavy smoking and yelling “TELL ME THE TRUTH!” Nuns are always trying to protect and serve justice. It seemed like a good “job”.

Anyhow!
Vision is the story of Hildegard Von Bingen, who was basically an early times feminist genius nun, struck with visions and she was a composer and a total radical and famous people sought her council and she knew all about plants and healing with rocks. She wanted nuns to not have to wear habits, but it was the 1400’s and so that was kind of scandy. She was basically a religious rockstar and all the dudes and priests were jealous. The movie is good, though given to slight melodrama. Recommended!
