Pretty cool. He is busy fixing up the old arcade games and selling them. He operated these games some 30 years ago and some of them still work.

By: russ heller http://urbanhonking.com/ideasfordozens/2010/03/14/retro_arcade_museum_an_electro/#comment-522 Sun, 09 May 2010 14:34:40 +0000 http://urbanhonking.com/ideasfordozens/2010/03/14/retro_arcade_museum_an_electro/#comment-522 my friends and i discovered this place while walking through beacon. i asked the proprietor if a lot of people have come in asking about donkey kong lately (in reference to the amazing King of Kong documentary, probably the most significant interest outsiders have paid to the world of retro arcade enthusiasts…well, ever.) the strange thing is that it seemed like he didn’t know what i was talking about. i eventually discovered that this particular museum only contains games that predate the donkey kong era. some of the games have primitive video content, but most don’t. still, considering the HUGE spike in interest in donkey kong and retro gaming, i can’t believe that a man who runs the “retro arcade museum” would be surprised by my question. can i really be the first person to ask? anyway, great museum, great documentary. no overlap.
