Thankfully, for right now FBML is only a part of the development experience rather than the wider experience of using Facebook; I don’t think that developers are nearly a large enough audience to effect the browser vendors’ priorities. God help us all if they ever figure out some way/reason to push FBML out with their actual public html.

If browser vendors have to contend with a whole new crop of apps that rely on, e.g., xhtml doctypes while using iframes, then that’s one more (rather heavy) ball & chain on the whole process.
Yeah, it’ll be nice to have more cool stuff on FB in the long run, but I’m more concerned with how FB is going to affect the cool stuff on the Web in the longer term.
