Today I found some notes I'd made for an earlier blog on the adorable computerized post-it note pad in my 'dashboard':

That pretty much summed up what life was like a month ago, and it works pretty well for now, too. I've been feeling bad about my lapse in blogging, or returning phone calls from family members, or housekeeping. A few short 'ditties' about Dennis or a mishap in the kitchen couldn't be that difficult to share, and might even keep the few of you still out there sated enough to wait for the epic blogs that will surely come with spring's arrival. These days I am actually at Half & Half so little, I don't have enough to say. This is a very strange time as I've been yearning to get out of the everyday-at-the-Half-and-Half routine for some time, and now that I am, I feel disconnected. It's not that fun or interesting to write about. Hey, do you want to hear about we run out of some important item every day, whether it's toilet paper or vegan mayonnaise, and I can't seem to make an effective inventory list? Me neither.

The kitchen seems to be working out pretty well, and we've been making stuff I had previously only dreamed of serving, like brisket sandwiches. I think the next big project is to create a mailing list for our menus at Half & Half and Acorn. That would also require some advance knowledge of the menus on my part, which I have yet to master. But I am feeling optimistic. It's Spring.
